Welcome to the LA VERNE COMMUNITY NEWS ONLINE. We hope your visit will be a rewarding one.

The La Verne Community News is a tabloid size community newspaper distributed through the U. S. Postal Service to all postal patrons both business and residential in La Verne, California. With a current distribution of 14,000, the paper is published on the first Friday of each month. It is distributed FREE to all residents and businesses in the City of La Verne and offers an annual subscription rate of $20 to those out of the area.

In viewing this site, we encourage you to note the many features we have to offer. A number of news and feature articles that appear in the monthly publication are presented for your viewing pleasure, in addition to a section on historical articles and sites in the area that will change frequently.

We welcome you to visit us often. Local events change daily and we hope to keep you informed as things happen in our area. You may wish to bookmark us for ease in returning to the site frequently.

SAN DIMAS NATURE CENTER HOLDS HAWAIIAN HO'OLAULE'A

The San Dimas Canyon Nature Center Associates and the Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation are holding an annual fund raiser on Saturday, June 7th, 10am to 10pm and Sunday, June 8th, 10am to 4pm. The event is held to raise money for the food and care of the animals that reside at the Nature Center, as well as fund programs that help educate the public about nature through displays, presentations, youth programs and outreaches.

The event will be held at San Dimas Canyon Park and will have beautiful FREE continuous Hawaiian music and dancing. Visitors can purchase food, shop among the many Hawaiian vendor booths, see animal presentations, and participate in interactive crafts. Proceeds for the event go to the feed and care of the animals and educational programs.  You may contact (909-599-8953) or the Nature Center (909-599-7512) if you have questions.
